One-Piece Wonder

As I’ve been learning to swim over the past few months, there’s been one significant problem: Wardrobe malfunctions.

I’ve been swimming in bikinis, because that’s all I own. As I’m swimming, I have to pull up my bottoms, because they’ll sometimes start to fall down. Other times, I’ll realize that I’m having a wardrobe malfunction, and will have no idea how long I’ve been flashing boob.

But not anymore!

I know you can’t see that this is a one-piece, but I promise, it is.

Santa brought me a one-piece swimsuit for Christmas.

I tried it out this week, and it was ah-maz-ing. So great! First of all, the suit kept me warm(ish) on the trip from the locker room to the pool. Second, I was able to focus on swimming, rather than adjusting my swimming suit. Third, I felt like I looked like a super awesome serious swimmer.

I’m beginning to realize the importance of adequate equipment for training. It makes a huge difference!

How do you know when it’s time to buy nice equipment? When do you slide by with the junk you’ve already got?

Yay glad you like it! I’m so long torso that even long torse one pieces pull too much on me, it’s nuts. I have a workout bikini – complete with drawstring in the bottoms. Haha.

:) I have a short torso, but a big butt, so my booty hangs out a little. Hubs found a good deal on one pieces at Costco today, so I had him buy me one in a bigger size. I still haven’t tried it on, but according to the sizing chart, it should be too big for me. We’ll see!

I am glad that santa got you a new swimming suite. Swimming laps in a bikini isn’t easy!

Ha! It was mostly just embarrassing. But it was so embarrassing that I was shy about going back to master’s swim, because I didn’t want the male coach seeing my wardrobe malfunctions. Now I don’t have to be afraid!

What an awesome and useful gift! What kind (brand) of suit is it?

Ha ha. I know I need new stuff when my old stuff has holes in it. As some of my running shorts do… oops ;)

It’s Speedo brand. What’s super funny is that hubs went to Costco today and found some Speedo swimsuits for $25. He got me one, so now I have two! The one from Costco is not as nice as the one I got from Santa…it’s not as thick/the fabric seems flimsier.

I can’t even tell you how embarrassing it was…boobies popping out quite a bit!

    Yay Santa!

I pretty much use any new sport or venture as an excuse to buy new crap, so I usually got out and buy whatever I think I need. Recently, I’ve been getting more frugal, so I’m starting to get by with what I have more than I usually do. I think I’m being sensible and that makes me feel good.

Ha! I have hubs and I on such a strict budget…we each get $70 “fun” money per month, and $30 clothes money. So, I definitely struggle to keep my sports stuff up-to-date!

I still think it’s funny when I go to swim laps and put on a one piece, but it is definitely necessary!!
