The Grateful Project

As I shared earlier this week, I just had a birthday. This led me to some self-reflection, which led me to the conclusion that I need a new project: The Grateful Project.

See, I’m really very blessed. But I spend a lot of time feeling stressed. This is a problem. I want to learn to better appreciate the many blessings that I have. With that thought in mind, I’ve decided to spend a year making an effort to write down things that I’m grateful for.

At first, I wanted to write down 3 things each day, but within the first day, I felt overwhelmed by this. I decided instead to focus on one thing each day that I’m really grateful for.

I wanted to do something really shabby chic, like writing them on a window frame to put on the wall, but realized that I’m not really very into decorating. Instead, I’m going for convenience and putting my list in my phone. However, to make it somewhat more aesthetically pleasing, once per week I plan to post something that I was grateful for in the past week on instagram.

One of the things I was grateful for this past week was Seattle. :)

And that’s the plan! Hopefully counting my blessings will help me be a more grateful, kind, and giving person!

What are you grateful for?

What a great project! I love the idea of daily reflections on gratitude. I will look forward to your posts once a week!

I am grateful to have a good job with many perks (like working from home, flexible arrival, compressed work schedule).

I try to be grateful every single day! I can relate to how you feel. Today I am grateful for my freedom!
