I’ve had a few people concerned that I was dead or ill or kidnapped because I haven’t been blogging lately. I am here to confirm to you that I am alive!
I’ve been absent from the blogging world because Husband Saign and I are hoping to buy a house.
As a first time home-buyer, I’ve been shocked to learn that buying a house should be a full-time job! It’s an insane amount of work! (Hence why I haven’t had time to blog).
I’ve also been shocked about how not fun it is! It’s a lot of, “Ooh, I like the hardwood floors and the woodwork, but it’s only one bathroom…” and “This is a GREAT house…I just wish that I could move it a few blocks over so it wasn’t right next to that busy street…” and, “Oh! This house is perfect…except it’s $25,000 over our budget.” In the end, nothing seems to fit just right. I’m stuck wondering whether we buy good-enough, or wait for nearly-just-right. (My suspicion is that nearly-just-right is just above our budget). I feel like home-buying looks like a great adventure when I watch HGTV, but in reality, it’s just a world of ambivalence.
So…I’m alive and well. I have tons of posts to write, including sharing all about running Ragnar Trails Tahoe with Nuun, as well as my recent poison ivy panic while on a trail run.
Have you shopped for a house before? Do you think shopping for a house is fun?
